Daniela Montoya hits wonder strike for Colombia's first-ever World Cup goal

This year's Women's World Cup marks Colombia's second appearance in the competition. They exited after the group stage in 2011 without notching a single goal.

On Tuesday against Mexico, Daniela Montoya changed all that.

After falling behind in the 36th minute, Montoya pulled Colombia level by hitting an absolute screamer into the far-left top corner from just outside the box in the 82nd minute. The keeper didn't have a prayer.

Things finished up 1-1, which doesn't necessarily do much in the way of assuring they at least make it to the knockout stages this time around, but at the very least Montoya's strike salvaged a point for the Colombians.

And what a beautiful strike it was.
