So, about Prop 19, how do you like the folks from outside this state acting like there isn't already a $12billion weed industry up and running, adding incremental value to our economy - I think they're just jealous in the midwest because we're already the chief agricultural power on this continent

 

I was offered $200 a day to pick buds in California...:excited: I was suppose to be out there this week, but now I can't go until March...

 

You know how I figure out how to vote on initiatives? I read the summary, and then I read the arguments for and against, and figure out which side appears to have invented the most creative bogus argument. Then I vote for the other side.

On that basis, I guess I'll have to vote for Prop. 19...because the opponents of it seem to have created some of the strangest arguments imaginable.

:lol: Yes, our voting guides are such fun, aren't they? I'm with you - I had to call someone and tell them to read the comedy available in the argument against Prop 19 - it was like the rough draft of a Robin Williams stand-up bit. Too stupid to be real.

The candidates statements are great fun as well - for those of you not privvy to our unique blend of democracy, here is the statement for Dina Padilla, the Peace & Freedom party candidate for Insurance Commissioner, "Dina J. Padilla as Insurance Commissioner will be the Insurance Industry's worst nightmare." :lol: It must be fun to write things like that knowing you have no chance in hell to be elected.

I saw that! If I were in that position, I'd be tempted to write something REALLY out there. How about this:

"The insurance companies are so pee-in-their-pants terrified of my being elected Insurance Commissioner that they've got black helicopters circling over my home, and there's a guy lurking in the shrubbery trying to take pictures of me in compromising positions. I have to go out and turn on the sprinklers every night to get rid of him."

 

Don't worry - March out here will be kind of like October . . . uhhhhhmmmm, I mean it will still be California (I think)

 

I still can not bring myself to send my vote in by mail. I get some kind of visceral pleasure from clicking that voting button and collecting my sticker from a smiley little elderly woman :lol:

Does she smile alot I always flirt with them while they find my address and make me sign their little book of voters. Hope the idea of Mom giving me a wink and giggle doesn't make you too nauseous :lol:

Actually, she's very sweet to people who vote, and sometimes it's difficult, I'll bet.

 

My mom's a lot younger and a lot sexier than that, and if I may say so, she's pretty good with a brass pole.

I've only seen one guy get kicked out of a polling place - the poor workers at their little folding tables were stunned by this guy who walked in with a fistful of pamphlets for his particular "cause" (can't even recall what it was) and he just started sermonizing about it while they were trying to sign him up :lol: eventually the cops came, escorted him out to the entryway and encouraged him to come back later when he was calmer.

I was about 4 people back in the line and the ladies doing the sign in, once they got over their initial shock, were giddy about having that kind of action in their precinct!

p.s. - Mom doesn't need to look out for me, I'll just charm her so sauvely I'll have to look out for her
